Born to Run

Charlie did his first 5k with me in the jogging stroller on Sunday for the "Mad Dash" to benefit St. Tammany Parish Hospital Foundation. He loved it! He passed out halfway through. Heather Wood and our sweet God baby Abbie did it with us too! It was a beautiful day and a wonderful weekend!
We are happy that this week is a short week! Can't wait for Easter!! My sister, brother in law and their boys are coming in town on Thursday! And we also have friends of ours, the Perrett's with their twin boys, coming to stay with us on Friday. We are all doing the Crescent City Calssic Saturday- jogging strollers and all! A lot different from years past but it will be a blast!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

IRISH BLESSING:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, May God hold you in the Palm of his hands!

I married into a very Irish and wonderful family- "The Craig's" - (Craig's mom's maiden name- thus the name of my husband..Craig! Craig loves everything Irish and one day we will go to Ireland!! For now we will just drink beer and be merry...Cheers!

We had a fun weekend! We went with CZ and BZ to the St Patty's day Parade in Metairie! Most pics are from the parade and the others are of Charlie in his PJ's (Mommy's good luck charm).

Here's to you and yours
And to mine and ours.
And if mine and ours
Ever come across to you and yours,
I hope you and yours will do

As much for mine and ours
As mine and ours have done
For you and yours!

Charlie Monkey

The last few weeks Charlie has turned into quite the little Monkey. Climbing up on everything and pulling himself up! My sweet in laws- Craig's Dad and Step Mom (Derby and BonBon) came in town last weekend to visit. While they were here Charlie stood himself up in his crib! We couldnt beleive it. Ever since, anytime we go into him room in the morning or after a nap (or in the middle of the night) he is standing up, looking around,  holding onto the side of his crib. Hilarious!
Just a few weeks ago we had dropped the crib midway...looks like we will have to drop it all the way down now.

Charlie is already into everything he is not supposed to! With 1 million toys all around the house, he still goes straight for three things...
1.The fireplace (which he climbs up on the marble and makes me so nervous)
2. Maysie's dog food bowl
3. My computer cord
Time to babyproof everything! I was not ready for this...my baby is growing too fast!

On the mantel- here comes trouble!

More Charlie News: He started waving this week and is saying da-da-da, ma-ma-ma and blowing bubbles with his spit (which he thinks is hilarious-not too funny for ma-ma-ma, after I give him a bite to eat and then starts blowing his bubbles- so I laugh b/c I can't help it, which makes him do it more)! Anyway, I have been trying to teach him to wave for a little while now. On thursday when we came home from work- our sitter Hannah said "Charlie has been waiving at the TV and me all day!" We couldn't believe it!! He is so proud of himself when he does it- and loves looking at himself in the mirror and watching his hand.
My handsome boy ready for church...

I am such a happy boy!
Enough Pictures mommy!
Passed out in the car on the way to my first Mardi Gras parade. I was sick for the first time so on the way mommy and daddy decided we should go get lunch instead!

We are off to enjoy this beautiful weather today!! We hope to be outside all day at the lakefront in the jogging stroller and in the grass! So happy spring is here!!!

Mardi Gras Marathon

We did it... We ran the Mardi Gras Rock N Roll half marathon. 13.1 miles...
Bruce, Molly, Mandi, Jess, Me and Craig

This has been my goal since I had Charlie and I honestly did not think I would end up doing it but I did! My sweet friend Mandi came in town from Florida for the weekend and we ran it together. It was so fun! We had a big group of us that all ran it together. Aunt Molly ran WAY ahead of us and did incredible (Craig too!!). The most impressive person was Mame' (my amazing mother)! She did the full marathon 26.2 miles-her second one and she did amazing!

Molly, Mom, Me and Mandi

Our next race will be the Cresent City Classic Easter weekend. Brooke and Jason and boys will be in town so we can't wait!
Also, Molly and Bruce are in training for the Half Ironman and will then be doing the FULL IRONMAN in August- yes, they are seriously crazy but absolutely incredible!

Before the race-
